Okoro made the appeal in a tearful video shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, days after her release from custody and amid her grief over the death of her nine-year-old son, Bryan.

In the video, she was seen crying inside a car, explaining that she had left home because she did not want her mother to see her in such an emotional state.

“I had to run away from the house. I’m inside the car because I don’t want my mum to see me like this. My family, what do you want me to do? Tell me because I’m confused. My brain is numb,” she said.

The influencer acknowledged that some of her previous remarks had caused hurt, particularly comments about experiences and pain she had not personally endured.

“I’m so sorry for speaking about the pain I know nothing about. I’m so sorry for speaking about the pain I’ve never felt. I’m sorry for speaking about it carelessly,” she said.

Reflecting on the criticism surrounding her past statements, Okoro admitted that words alone were not enough to demonstrate genuine change.

“I’m realising that talk is cheap. Talk is cheap. Action speaks louder than words. I’m so ashamed of myself, but I’m human. I’m bound to make mistakes, but mistakes also have a price, and I’m paying for it with my own tears,” she added.

She appealed to people who felt hurt by her comments to forgive her, saying her personal experiences had changed how she understood the pain of others.

“I’m sorry if my words have affected you in any way. Now I can feel the pain, and I don’t even wish it for my worst enemy. Maybe I was just ignorant. Life has taught me a lesson,” she said.

Okoro also addressed those who had continued to support her despite the controversies, as well as people who had withdrawn their affection because of her actions.

“To those who still love me despite everything, I’m sorry. To those who no longer love me because of my actions, I’m sorry,” she said.

Describing her return to her family after spending months in custody, she compared herself to the biblical prodigal son, saying she was prepared to abandon her previous mistakes and begin again.

“I’m back home like the prodigal son in the Bible. I’m not ashamed of coming back home where I was celebrated and had everything in abundance. Instead of eating crumbs on the table, this is me making a U-turn,” she said.

The most personal part of the video came when she addressed her late son, whom she affectionately called “Doom Doom”.

Okoro said she missed Bryan and promised to make amends for her mistakes, adding that she wanted to honour his memory through the changes she hoped to make in her life.

“To my son who passed, whom I call Doom Doom, I miss you. I miss you, Bryan. I miss you so much, and I promise to correct every wrong. I’m ready to correct every wrong to keep making you proud in heaven,” she said.

She also spoke about the effect of the loss on other members of the family, particularly her mother and Bryan’s brother.

“Your brother misses you so much. Granny has been crying. In fact, me and your granny used to hide to cry. I saw my mum break down this morning, and I couldn’t even look at her face,” she said.

The influencer recalled her desire to retrieve her son’s school bag, uniform, lunchbox and books, describing the items as part of what she hoped to hold on to as she continued to process his death.

She also expressed regret that she was unable to be with him before he died.

“I’m sorry, Bryan. I’m sorry I wasn’t there. I’m sorry I came late. I don’t know, but I’m sorry,” she said.

Towards the end of the video, Okoro spoke about the intensity of her grief and appealed for divine help as she struggled to cope with losing her child.

“I’m praying that God finds me before it’s too late to shut down my heart and me to bury my own child.

The pain is too much,” she said.

Bryan died in hospital while his mother was in custody at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos.

Okoro has previously said that the boy suffered from chronic asthma and had experienced recurring health challenges.

Her detention followed separate fraud proceedings instituted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

She was granted bail in a case involving an alleged ₦69.15 million property transaction but remained in custody while facing separate proceedings.

She was released in October 2026, while the allegations remain subject to court proceedings.

The latest video follows an earlier tribute in which Okoro said she was struggling to accept her son’s death and would continue to carry his memories with her.
