The singer, whose real name is Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, expressed his concerns in a post on X, where he drew attention to the absence of reported election-related deaths and ballot-box snatching during the US polls.

“Nobody Die for America Election. Nobody carry ballot box Run, sometimes Nigeria go make you feel like say Bad things na Normal thing….sad Much,” he wrote.

His comment appeared to express frustration with Nigeria’s recurring electoral challenges, particularly violence, intimidation and the disruption of voting through the theft of ballot boxes.

Patoranking suggested that repeated exposure to such incidents had made unacceptable conduct appear normal to many Nigerians, describing the situation as sad.

The US midterm elections were held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with voters choosing members of Congress and officials across several states.

All 435 seats in the House of Representatives were contested, alongside 35 Senate seats and 36 governorships.

The elections also determined control of state legislatures and other public offices.

Although the polls were politically competitive, reports highlighted their largely orderly conduct, with voters casting ballots and candidates accepting results in several closely watched races.

The midterm elections take place halfway through a US president’s four-year term and often serve as a referendum on the administration’s performance.

Patoranking’s remarks have renewed attention on the contrast between electoral administration in the two countries, particularly the need for credible elections in which citizens can exercise their voting rights without fear or intimidation.

Nigeria has continued to face concerns over election-related violence, vote buying, ballot snatching and disputes surrounding electoral outcomes.

The singer’s post adds to public criticism of practices that undermine confidence in the country’s democratic process.
