The entertainer, widely recognised for portraying the patient but outspoken wife of Mr Macaroni’s Daddy Wa, made the revelations in an interview with Saturday Sun, where she reflected on her journey in the entertainment industry and her aspirations for the future.

Assessing her performance this year, Kemz Mama described it as an exciting period despite the challenges and demands of her career, giving herself a rating of 10 out of 10.

She said she had become more confident about pursuing projects that previously made her nervous, adding that she was particularly proud of producing her movie.

The actress also recalled that she never expected Mummy Wa to become such a popular character when she first began working alongside Mr Macaroni.

According to her, she initially viewed the opportunity as another acting job for which she would be paid, but remains grateful for the recognition the character has brought her.

She disclosed that most of the comedy skits featuring Mummy Wa and Daddy Wa are scripted by Mr Macaroni, although they occasionally introduce spontaneous elements while performing.

Speaking about the difference between her personality and that of Mummy Wa, Kemz Mama said the character reminds her of her mother and the experiences of many women from older generations.

She explained that although she appreciates the patience associated with traditional wives, she does not intend to adopt the same approach to marriage in her personal life.

The actress said observing the experiences and mistakes of previous generations had helped her develop a clearer understanding of the kind of wife she hopes to become.

“We’ve seen all the mistakes our parents made, and hopefully we won’t make the same ones. So, I’ll say I’m definitely going to do the opposite of most of what they did,” she said.

Kemz Mama also spoke about how her academic qualifications have supported her work as an independent producer and businesswoman.

The actress holds a degree in accounting and a master’s degree in management. Although she admitted that she sometimes feels she is not making full use of her qualifications, she acknowledged that her management background had been valuable in handling the responsibilities that come with producing films.

On dealing with the pressures of internet fame, she said she had become less concerned about public opinions and negative comments on social media.

She described the year as a period of learning to believe in herself, appreciate her achievements and avoid allowing online criticism to affect her emotional well-being.

Asked about her biggest disappointment in Nollywood, the actress declined to disclose details, explaining that she did not want to offend anyone in the industry.

However, she expressed pride in the growing creativity within the Nigerian film sector, particularly the increasing number of young filmmakers producing short films, YouTube series and independent shows.

She said seeing her friends and colleagues establish their own projects and achieve success remained one of her greatest sources of happiness.

Looking ahead, Kemz Mama named Nigerian actor Timini Egbuson and American filmmaker and actor Tyler Perry among the personalities she would love to work with.

The actress also admitted that portraying a married woman has influenced how she views marriage and romantic relationships.

She described the institution as somewhat frightening at times, particularly because of Mummy Wa’s repeated efforts to win the attention of her on-screen husband.

Kemz Mama said she hoped her future husband would remain devoted to her, adding that she did not want to find herself constantly chasing her partner for affection.

Meanwhile, she maintained that she was not interested in correcting public misconceptions about her personality, saying she had reached a point where she was comfortable with what people chose to believe about her.

She also joked that Mummy Wa was single and ready to mingle because the character was getting old.

On advice for young women hoping to build careers in Nollywood, Kemz Mama urged them to believe in themselves and remain confident in their abilities.
